Service Carrier Hardware Change
When Dana designed in "Thick Flange" carriers in the models listed above, carriers sold thru service-included production mounting hardware (carrier to housing fasteners) unique to the "Thick Flange" design. This plan was adopted by Dana to make the transition period less confusing to dealers or fleet maintenance shops who, when installing the newer design carriers also required the new longer design capscrews. This plan was effective and designed to run for one year (now nearing a 2nd full year) depending on the model change implementation dates and stock ramp up of service housing hardware kits by OEMýs, Dealers and Warehouse Distributors.
