An industry first, the Peterbilt Premium-40 is designed for linehaul vehicles with all engine ratings up to 1850 Lb-ft of torque with up to 600HP. It is also suited for a variety of 40,000-Lb. vocational applications.

The Premium-40 offers higher performance by incorporating proven design and process improvement technology to achieve greater axle strength while minimizing weight and cost.

  Micro-alloy steel “square edge” axle housing is standard with 9.5mm [.37in] wall thickness for lighter weight vehicles.

  Strong hypoid primary gearing with premium processing in a full range of axle ratios. Includes ring gear thrust bolt to protect against damaging effects of impact loads.
